Seafood Meets Sunshine: Luke’s Lobster Opens on Balboa Island

Luke’s Lobster, the beloved New England seafood chain founded by a third-generation Maine lobsterman, is opening its first Orange County location on Balboa Island. Expect classic lobster, crab, and shrimp rolls served "Luke’s Way"—chilled, wild-caught seafood in a toasted, buttered split-top bun with mayo, lemon butter, and signature seasoning.

Location & Opening Date

  • Address: 329 Marine Avenue, Newport Beach (right near Balboa Island).
  • Opening Date: Slated for August 22, 2025, as confirmed via their official Instagram announcement (Instagram).

Hours & Service Style

  • Open Daily from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. for lunch and dinner.
  • Casual, walk-up “shack” style—perfect for grabbing a bite before or after exploring the island.

Highlights & Community Impact

  • Opening Week Specials: The first 100 guests to order a 6‑ounce lobster roll will receive a free Luke’s beach towel.
  • Charitable Initiative: During the opening week, $1 from every lobster roll sold will be donated to Serving People In Need, a Costa Mesa-based nonprofit focused on helping individuals experiencing homelessness move toward self‑sufficiency.

What Makes Luke’s Lobster Stand Out?
