Their first venture, A Restaurant was founded in 1926, originally a restaurant and service station primarily serving traditional diner food. Over the years, A Restaurant has transfigured into a contemporary New American style steak and seafood restaurant. Next door, A Market was founded, providing a casual outdoor atmosphere, serving savory and sweet breakfast and lunch items.
In 2007, Joseph ‘McG’ Nichol and Jordan Otterbein formed River Jetty Restaurant Group and became the new owners of A Restaurant and A Market. River Jetty Restaurant Group continued to grow and in 2019, CdM Restaurant was born. Located right in the prime location of PCH and MacArthur, CdM Restaurant creates rotating menus, featuring local, seasonal ingredients paired with high-quality, chef-driven cuisine. Along with the everchanging seasonal items, CdM boasts delicious favorites the regulars love including Cacio e Pepe, Chicken Pot Pie, and Chicken Piccata.
An intimate speakeasy lies below CdM Restaurant, focused on high-quality cocktails curated by talented mixologists. Open seven days a week to the public, Under CdM moonlights as a private event space. This coveted speakeasy is the perfect backdrop for a small group dining experience or company party.
CdM Restaurant and River Jetty Restaurant Group are heavily ingrained in the Corona del Mar and Newport Beach communities. Both founders, McG and Jordan are CdM High School alumni, with deep roots throughout the community. With A Restaurant being the oldest reported restaurant in Newport Beach, the mark River Jetty Restaurant Group has made on the community is profound.
River Jetter Restaurant group is embarking on a new adventure this May, opening their fourth eatery located in Crystal Cove. This new eatery and bar will blend old Hollywood glamour with chic New York City and San Francisco-style hotspots.
