There are few better ways to spend a Saturday in October than on the beach with fine beer and tasty eats to benefit a fantastic cause.
The Newport Beach social calendar is bursting at the seams with plenty to do this fall. One of those must-attend events is the Fifth Annual Beach, Brews, and BBQ on Saturday, October 19, from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m.
Presenting sponsor BJ’s Restaurants is heading up another spectacular party at the Newport Dunes Waterfront Resort, one of California’s best and most luxurious waterfront beach resorts.
Last year this event, which benefits the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Southern California Chapter-Orange County Office, saw over 800 people in attendance, and organizers expect even more beer and BBQ lovers this year.
The over-21 event will feature some of the area’s best BBQ and the finest handcrafted beers you’ll ever taste. However, there’s more to the party than just food and drink.
As with years past, the purpose of the event is to raise funds to help cure cystic fibrosis. There will be both live and silent auctions offering a number of terrific items and prizes. Also on hand will be lots of fun beach and bar games and live entertainment throughout the day.
This is a ticketed event, and you must be 21 years of age or older to attend. General admission tickets are $50 (half of which is tax-deductible) and include a commemorative festival glass and unlimited BBQ and beer tastings.
You can choose to kick it up a notch and go VIP for $15 more ($40 tax-deductible), which gains you early access and exclusive beer and wine tastings.
Parking is $10, and organizers encourage attendees to use Lyft or Uber as an alternative to driving.
If you or your organization is interested, there’s still time to become a sponsor for the event with several sponsor levels to choose from. Of course, if you’re unable to attend this year, the foundation is still taking donations from generous locals in and around Newport Beach.
