Savor 2025: A Night of Grace and Purpose
The Literacy Project’s Savor 2025 illuminated Newport Beach Country Club with an evening of grace, generosity, and shared purpose. Beneath a canopy of twinkling lights, guests gathered to celebrate the transformative power of literacy and the strength of community.
Guided by the inspiring leadership of Sue Grant, Founder and CEO of The Literacy Project, the evening reflected the organization’s unwavering commitment to helping children discover the joy of reading. With co event chairs Amy Cardiff and Sue Grant, the event blended sophistication with heartfelt connection, creating a night to remember for all in attendance.
VALIA Properties was deeply honored to see our late founder, Tim Tamura, recognized as one of three distinguished honorees. His legacy, marked by humility, integrity, and enduring generosity, continues to shape the heart of our work and the community he so thoughtfully nurtured. His wife accepted the award in his memory, sharing reflections that captured his lifelong belief in education as a catalyst for opportunity.
The evening also celebrated honorees David A. Pyle and the Pyle Family, and Leigh Steinberg, who joined in championing literacy as a foundation for empowerment. Together, guests helped raise a record breaking $400,000 to expand The Literacy Project’s reading programs, ensuring that thousands more children will gain the lifelong gift of literacy.
As music filled the air and conversations flowed, the spirit of giving connected everyone present. For VALIA, the evening was both emotional and uplifting, a tribute to Tim’s legacy and to the power of purpose driven community.
Savor 2025 reminded us that when compassion and generosity intertwine, they create change that endures far beyond one night.
